AI Voicemail Assistant.
A POC for a personal AI receptionist that picks up when you can't. Worked technically. Blocked by an iOS platform restriction.
The idea was a personal AI receptionist: instead of voicemail, the AI picks up calls you can’t take, talks to the caller, and sends you a short summary of what they wanted. Lower stakes than the food truck project — it didn’t need to be airtight, it just needed to be better than voicemail, which is a low bar.
The voice side mostly worked. The blocker was structural. An app like this has to be tied to your primary phone number, and Apple doesn’t expose that to third-party developers on iOS. There is no API that lets you build this. You can’t ship the app, full stop.
The POC sits on the shelf. If Apple ever opens that surface up, the rest of the work is easy.
